Useful Links
Day 1
We head for Warwickshire, making comfort stops and a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arriving at Studley Castle this afternoon.
Day 2
Today we visit National Trust's Hanbury Hall, a country retreat in the heart of Worcestershire.
The house and garden, originally a stage-set for summer parties, offer a glimpse into life at the turn of the 18th century. Don't miss the original wall-paintings by Sir James Thornhill. Full of drama and politics, they show the birth of Georgian society. The original formal gardens, designed by George London, have been faithfully re-created. They complement the relaxed later gardens, with orangery, orchards and walled garden.
Day 3
Our visit today is to the Black Country Living Museum, an open-air museum of rebuilt historic buildings in Dudley, West Midlands.
See history brought to life and discover the story of the Black Country. Meet the historic characters who’ll show you what it was like to live and work in one of the first industrialised landscapes in Britain as you explore 26 acres of reconstructed shops, pubs and houses. From watching live demonstrations and taking part in old fashioned street games to visiting the vintage cinema and enjoying their traditional fish and chips, there’s something for everyone at Black Country Living Museum.
Day 4
We have a day at leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities of the hotel.
Day 5
We depart the hotel after breakfast, homeward bound with comfort stops and a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arriving back in East Sussex this afternoon.
