7 day break to the Isle of Man, staying at the Empress Hotel, Douglas + overnight hotels
Day 1
We head North with comfort stops en-route and a suitabe lunch stop. Arriving at the Holiday Inn Preston for our overnight stay.
Day 2
Enjoy the morning in Morecambe.
We then cross the Irish Sea from Heysham to Douglas by Isle of Man Steam Packet, arriving at the Empress Hotel, Douglas early evening.
Day 3
We have the morning at leisure We make our way to Ramsey Station to board the Manx Electric Railway to Laxey.. Once at there we join the Snaefell Mountain Railway which will take us to the Summit and return us to Laxey where we meet our coach.
Day 4
We make our way to Jurby to visit the Isle of Man Motor Museum, explore the amazing stories behind a collection of over 400 unique exhibits from around the world, including classic cars & motor vehicles and rarely seen private motorcycles.
Day 5
This morning we make our way to Douglas Railway Station where we travel to Port Erin with Isle of Man Transport. Enjoy some free time in Port Erin.
We then depart and visit Cregneash National Folk Museum. Settled on an upland plateau overlooking the Calf of Man, Cregneash village was one of the last strongholds of the Manx language and customs which characterised the crofting way of life. Step inside the Manx cottages to see how crofters lived through stories, skills and craft demonstrations.
Day 6
After breakfast we say a fond farewell to the Empress Hotel, making our return crossing by Isle of Man Steam Packet. Arriving at the Holiday Inn Preston late afternoon/early evening, for our overnight stay.
Day 7
We continue our journey home after breakfast at the Hotel. Stopping for a comfort & lunch stop, we arrive back in East Sussex late afternoon/early evening.
