5 day Festive Break to Berkshire, staying at Warner Littlecote House.
Day 1
We depart for Berkshire, making comfort stops en-route including a suitable lunch stop. Arriving at Littlecote House this afternoon.
Day 2
Today we visit Basildon Park, a National Trust property.
Sitting elegantly in 162 hectares (400 acres) of historic parkland and gardens, this 18th-century house was purchased by Lord and Lady Iliffe in the 1950s, when it was de-requisitioned after the Second World War. With extraordinary vision, the Iliffes brought Basildon Park back to life, acquiring a collection of fine furnishings and carefully selected Old Masters.
The wooded parkland offers glorious seasonal colour, while the landscape has been carefully restored to offer wonderful views, peaceful trails and picnic places. Winter walks are a must.
Day 3
Today we have an excursion to Oxford.
Oxford - The City of Dreaming Spires, is famous for its University and place in history. Nowadays, the city is a bustling cosmopolitan town, with its mix of ancient and modern, there is plenty for a tourist to do. Whether its spotting or visiting one of the many historic buildings, including the iconic Bodleian Library, Carfax Tower, or The Bridge of Sighs; going out for a drink or a meal, or shopping till you drop, Oxford has it all!
Day 4
A day at leisure to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.
Day 5
We depart the hotel after breakfast, making our way home with suitable comfort and lunch stops, arriving back in East Sussex this afternoon.
