5 day coach holiday to Somerset, staying at Warner Cricket St Thomas, Chard

Day 1

We depart for Somerset, making comfort stops en-route including a suitable lunch stop. Arriving at Cricket St Thomas this afternoon.

Day 2

Today we visit the Somerset Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury.

A unique heritage attraction on the site of the former Abbey Farm. Here you can explore rural life from the 1800s onwards and discover more about the county’s heritage. The farmhouse and former farm buildings are home to a series of galleries. There is also a farmyard and orchard to explore. The magnificent 14th-century Abbey Barn is one of the West Country’s finest buildings and the centrepiece of the site.

This afternoon we have visits to Glastonbury and Clarks Village in Street.

Day 3

This morning we visit East Lambrook Gardens, England's foremost cottage garden.

East Lambrook Manor Gardens is the iconic and quintessentially English cottage garden created by the celebrated 20th-century plantswoman and gardening writer Margery Fish. It was here that she developed her own style of gardening, combining old-fashioned and contemporary plants in a relaxed and informal manner to create a garden of immense beauty and charm.

The English Heritage Grade I listed garden is characterised by many winding paths through abundant borders and is renowned as the premier example of the English cottage garden style. It has noted collections of snowdrops, hellebores and hardy geraniums and there is an excellent specialist hardy plant nursery in the garden.

Day 4

A day at leisure to enjoy the facilities of the hotel.

Day 5

We depart the hotel after breakfast, making our way home with comfort stops and a suitable lunch stop. Arriving back in East Sussex late afternoon/early evening.
